Overview
THE CHALLENGE
Four Pillars had outgrown its existing ecommerce setup. As the brand scaled from Yarra Valley cellar door to a global gin producer, the website needed to carry a growing product range, gift card and subscription mechanics, and a more sophisticated customer record, on a platform that could keep pace.
The brand's marketing and ecommerce team, led by Jemma Blanch and the website team of Clare Fletcher and Ella Clawley, ran a competitive pitch process in early 2023 and selected Elephant Room to lead a Shopify Plus migration, citing a preference for a collaborative partner over a conventional vendor relationship.
THE APPROACH
How the engagement was structured.
The engagement opened with a full discovery and scoping process: workshops covering site functionality, data migration (including gift voucher handling and Algolia search), and integration points with Four Pillars' broader systems stack, including the Microsoft Dynamics environment run by its parent company, Lion.
Alongside the platform work, Elephant Room supported ongoing site content, including homepage, header/footer and product page refinements on the brand's live theme.
In 2024 the conversation extended into retention: Elephant Room presented a Klaviyo-led lifecycle strategy to the Four Pillars team, drawing on experience running retention programmes for comparable DTC brands.
THE OUTCOME
Elephant Room delivered the discovery and scoping phase of the Shopify Plus migration and supported Four Pillars' website content through 2023 and into 2024, working directly with the brand's ecommerce and marketing team.
This case study reflects the documented scope of work; Elephant Room does not hold quantified performance results for this engagement and none are claimed here.
